I can’t believe it’s already Mid-September – now where’s that cooler weather I ordered? I’ve been good all Summer – Shouldn’t there be an Autumn Fairy to deliver those brisk mornings and the smell of wood fireplaces to replace the smell of barbecue grills in the shimmering air? Starbucks has their Pumpkin Spice Latte (and my returning favorite, the Salted Caramel Mocha) back, isn’t that meant to be The Ultimate Harbinger of Fall? The Autumnal Equinox will fall on Sunday, September 22, so start looking for that mercury to fall – sweater weather is COMING!! (if I keep saying it, maybe it’ll happen – that’s how weather works, right?!)
Today was the day of our Chris Bylsma Workshops on necklines and edges – I can’t wait for Show & Tell at the October meeting to see what the attendees learned!
Have you heard? We’ll be doing 4 programs on the Elizabeth Zimmermann Seamless Set-In Sleeve pattern from Knitter’s Workshop throughout the year – would you like to knit along? The pattern is available as a “one off” from Schoolhouse Press – Spun-Out #21 – get your gauge swatch going so you can come join the fun! If you are a member but don’t have the pattern, the guild is putting together a “bulk order” from Schoolhouse Press and we can order a pattern for you, too (for the bargain price of $3!) Email me if you’d like a copy!
We’ll have Patricia K. back with us in October to talk more about the sweater and short rows – if you missed our September meeting, the PowerPoint presentation is available in our Member’s section, as well as the handout with the bear-size sweater, to try out the techniques on a small scale – head on over and check it out! Remember that you’ll need to be a member in good standing to access the Member’s Area on our website. Not a member? Want to be? Grab our Membership Form and join us!
